Dr. AJ. Saravanamuthu
Dr. AJ. Saravanamuthu or “Dr. AJ.” graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hon.), in Kinesiology and Sports Science in 2007. Dr. AJ completed his Master of Optometry specializing in Sports Vision in 2014 at Aston University in the United Kingdom. He has experience under Ophthalmology tutelage through clerkships with the Hospital Eye Services in Norwich & Norfolk University Hospital in England (2014) and at Great Lakes Eye Centre in Brantford, Ontario (2017).
Dr. AJ is an active member of the ISVA (International Sports Vision Association), the OAO (Ontario Association of Optometrists), the CAO (Canadian Association of Optometrists), and VTC (Vision Therapy Canada).
Always an avid sports enthusiast, Dr. AJ. was an Athletic Therapist for the University of Waterloo Men’s Basketball team (2002-2005) and has been an Athletic Trainer at Point Guard College since 2004. In 2020 Dr. AJ founded See The Game, a cutting edge neuro-sport training organization offering custom assessments and training programs for athletes looking to achieve the next level in their sport.
Dr. AJ first met Dr. Betty Fretz in 2017 through the Optometric Bridging Programme. With his experience in Sports Vision and orthoptics, Dr. AJ was a welcome addition to Dr. Fretz’s practice at Listowel Vision Care, matching her passion and enthusiasm, and with a desire to provide the best possible care to each and every patient.
At Fretz Neuro Vision, Dr. Fretz’s legacy continues to grow and flourish under the team’s passionate leadership and drive for change.
Dr. AJ enjoys basketball and sports, but mostly traveling with his wife.
